Have you thought of a beautiful location for winter diving yet? Aside from the excitement, many people would want to go diving in the winter because it is the perfect time to dive elsewhere.

Maltese Islands

Maltese Islands is just at the tip of Italy’s south and at the heart of West Mediterranean. It is an enchanting archipelago composed of Comino, Gozo, and Malta, aside from the smaller, uninhabited islands of Filfla, Cominotto, and St. Paul.

This spot is among the best scuba diving locations in Europe, particularly in the month of December. This is due to the clear blue sea of the Mediterranean offering a unique diving experience with lots of scuba packages around the island.

Canary Islands

The Canary Islands offers clear water, sun, and warmth all year long. So it is expected to see divers everywhere the location during the winter. This spot is also referred to as The Fortunate Islands due to its subtropical climate and beautiful sandy beaches.

This is just at the edge of the Atlantic Ocean off the northwest coast of Africa. Despite the lack of vivid colors found in tropical destinations, it makes up for with beautiful sights such as rays, sharks, turtles, wrecks, and lots of brightly colored fish.

The Maldives

One of the best dive destinations on the planet particularly in December is The Maldives. It is famous for divers because of its ocean viewed huts and attractive surroundings. The winter months also can offer a great time for divers to witness the Manta Ray located at the Manta Point in South Ari Atoll.

A popular spot for the cleaning station for Mantas, The Maldives is a great spot to see the creatures come up from the depths to rid themselves of unwanted parasites. This happens between the months of January to April.

Mozambique

The mega fauna in Mozambique is one of the exciting scenes that scuba divers talk about during the winter. This is because you can see a lot of manta rays and whale sharks that prowl this plankton-rich location. As a bonus, you also get to see some humpback whales passing by.
